Our Team

Michael McGurl has a long and varied history in the maritime industry, most recently taking on the role of executive director at the Hull Lifesaving Museum in 2019. Mike is a graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy where he was captain of the sailing team in 1981. After graduating he held various positions in the industry, including at Bird Johnson Company, Boston Whaler and Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding. In 1996 Mike and a business partner launched a company that provided ferry service in Boston Harbor and he later ran a water taxi service in Fort Lauderdale. Mike holds a Master credential for near coastal waters and has been an instructor at New England Maritime since 2017.
