    Anticipated Dates: Our full season is from April 1, 2025, through November 15, 2025.

    All positions are employment-at-will.

    Compensation and Benefits: Pay starts at $30.00/hour (plus tips) and is based on experience. Paid sick time and paid holidays Company-subsidized housing is available and is included as part of the compensation.

    Position Description: The Dock Master is a seasonal position that plays a key role in our mission to deliver world-class service and products and a memorable vacation experience to everyone who passes through our doors. This is done by overseeing the day-to-day dock operations and team through a hands-on leadership approach.

    Oversees the day-to-day operations of the dock

    Schedules dock team and approves timecards for payroll

    Cultivates a positive working environment

    Manages the performance of the team

    Ensures customer satisfaction within the department

    Effectively communicates with other departments as needed

    Processes vessel reservations

    Answers the fuel dock phone and radio

    Ensures accuracy of daily sales and all Dockwa reports

    Assigns and directs boaters to the appropriate slips

    Assists guests with docking and undocking

    Assists boats with requests for fuel

    Pumps out holding tanks of vessels

    Performs light maintenance within the dock areas as needed

    May assist in supervising other staff who work outdoors (such as pool attendants)

    Assisting in other departments and with other duties as needed

    Qualifications: All our team members are passionate about guest service and helping others.     In addition, this position requires:

    Ability to work outdoors

    3-5 years of previous marina or marine field experience

    Previous leadership or management experience is preferred

    Skills in property management software, dock/marina software, and Microsoft Office preferred

    Boating license and/or USCG license a plus (not necessarily required)

    Ability to lift and carry between 50 and 100 pounds as needed

    Ability to effectively lead and manage a team

  • Launch Captain


    Port of New Bedford is seeking a seasonal launch captain

    Looking for a Jolly Captain with an exceptionally friendly demeanor who loves working with the public on the water and wants to showcase New Bedford.  We attract boaters and visitors from all across the country. We transport people to local attractions, restaurants, moorings, and marinas in the Port. Candidates must have a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential. The position is seasonal from April to October and reports to the marina manager.

    Function: Responsible for the safe operation of a 9-passenger launch throughout New Bedford Harbor, providing exceptional customer service, assisting boaters, and maintaining a tour guide like environment with guests and passengers.

    Specific Duties:  The safe operation of launch,  Monitor a VHF radio and cell phone, Provide highest level of customer service and information,  Assist transient boaters with mooring assignments,  Assist dock attendants at Pope’s Island Marina when not operating launch,  Keep boats clean at all times, Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays, Perform other duties as assigned by manager, Must wear uniforms as provided.

    Skills & Knowledge: Licensed boat operator (USCG Launch License); skilled boater (willing to train); pass a background check and a drug test; excellent customer service skills; professional appearance, strong communication skills and display strong work ethic; display acceptable attendance and punctuality; ability to multi-task and operate a VHF radio and cell phone; and ability to work constructively and positively with fellow employees.

    Cohasset Yacht Club Seeking Assistant Steward

    The Cohasset Yacht Club is looking for an assistant steward. The assistant steward is responsible for assisting the steward with any and all activities required to facilitate the operation and maintenance of the club, facilities and club-owned boats.

    The ideal candidate should possess 3 to 5 years of experience working in a private yacht club or marina preferably managing a staff and can demonstrate competence dealing with club members or marina customers. A U.S. Coast Guard license will be required for operating the club launch. Marine engine repair and woodworking skills a plus.

    Additionally, this person should have a strong sense of team work, good interpersonal skills and takes the initiative with a can-do attitude. This is a managerial role with room for long term growth at an active and vibrant yacht club

    Tiki Boat and Water Taxi Captain Positions Available

    Water Taxi Captain positions offer a unique and every changing workload. You would independently be responsible for ferrying passengers to and from our stops within the inner Boston Harbor.

    Tiki Boats will require a Captain who is friendly and adapts easily to different groups. The Tiki Boats will operate public and private charters around Boston Harbor on a set route. The Captain will work with a Mate on these vessels.

    In addition to a very competitive base hourly rate ($27.50-$30/hr) you will earn substantial tips during each shift. It is not uncommon for our Captains to double their daily earnings with the inclusion of tips.

    Qualified candidates for both jobs will hold, at minimum, a current USCG MMC 25 ton Inland Master. Candidates holding a 6-pack credential will be considered if willing to upgrade. Excellent customer service skills and a desire to succeed with a growing company are also qualities that we require.

    Responsibilities:

    Safely operate vessels in accordance with US Coast Guard regulations.

    Become familiar with all water taxi locations within the Boston Harbor.

    Assist passengers on and off water taxis and charter boats.

    Able to work varied work schedules.

    Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift 30-401bs repeatedly during a shift.

    Fuller Diving is a full service but small diving operation on Nantucket, providing boat caretaking services, mooring inspections, retrievals.

    Chris Fuller is the owner/diver and he needs a new mate. Responsibilities include maintenance of workboat and shop, organization of tools and equipment, assisting diver, cleaning and fueling boats, some record keeping, billing and scheduling.

    Applicants should be conscientious, comfortable operating small to mid-size motor boats and possess strong communication and organizational skills. Snorkeling, basic diving and sailboat rigging skills are a plus- but not required. We generally plan for working an 8-4 workday, 6 days a week June through August but also respond to calls outside of those hours, and on weekends when necessary. There is work in May and September/October if the applicant is available.

  • Small boat captain


    East Falmouth-based CR Environmental, Inc. is looking for a marine technician/ small boat captain.

    CR Environmental, Inc., a small company of scientists, hydrographers, and marine safety personnel, is seeking a survey and sampling technician to perform freshwater and oceanographic operations such as sediment coring, surface sediment grab sampling, bathymetric, and geophysical surveys as part of a crew at sites from Maine to New York.

    Travel in company vehicles may be required ~50 % of the time during the field season with weekends typically off and compensation for 12 hours when working in the field.

    At a few of the work sites, sampling may occur in areas of contaminated sediments. OSHA Hazwoper Training and Personal Protective Equipment (modified level D) and medical screening will be provided.

    Small boat (14-26 foot) operating experience is needed (U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License a plus). Navigation and survey software (e.g. HYPACK) training will be provided as well as the use of survey and sampling equipment.

    In-house work components include data processing, use of software such as Surfer and GIS for map production and report preparation.

    Parker's Boat Yard is hiring seasonal launch drivers.

    Parker's Boat Yard Inc. is a small, family owned and operated, full-service yard in Red Brook Harbor in Cataumet, Massachusetts. We are currently seeking launch drivers for summer 2024.

    Launch drivers are responsible for taking customers and guests between the dock and mooring field and to serve marina customers and guests. Launch drivers are required to have a Merchant Mariner Credential, USCG, Limited Master launch tender license. Hours are typically 6 days a week and shifts from 8-2 or 2-8.

    Nantucket Yacht Club is looking for a Launch Operator for the upcoming season.

    This position requires either a USCG Masters License or Limited Masters License. All launch operators participate in pre-employment substance screening and random screening throughout the season.

    As a Nantucket Yacht Club Launch Operator you will ensure the safe passage of yacht club staff, members, and guests to and from their vessels. The general upkeep, cleaning, and fueling of our vessels will be done by operators during off-peak times. The club's three tiller-steered launches stay busy servicing members and sailing programs requiring at least two (and sometimes three) operators and vessels at all times. Benefits include competitive wages, three meals per day, and, in some cases, housing.
